Die Altstadt von Ilirska Bistrica mit den Resten der Wassermühlen und Sägewerken, das aus alter Zeit stamende Schloss Gradina, dem Kloster der Schwestern von Notre Dame, Vencin´s Haus, dem Rathaus, dem Wasserfall des Sušec Baches und der reichen Architektur aus verschiedenen Epochen, ist für Spaziergänge und Begegnungen überaus interessant.
