Sie ist eine vielseitige Künstlerin, geschult in klassischer indischer sowie westlicher Musik, im Tanz sowie im literarischen und visuellen Ausdruck.
Nach ihrem Bachelor-Abschluss in Sprachwissenschaften und Kreativem Schreiben reiste sie fünf Jahre mit den Kirtan-Musikern des Ensembles „Gaura Vani and As Kindred Spirits“ um den Globus, die die spirituelle Kultur des Hinduismus vermitteln wollen.
Jahnavi ist zudem Mitglied des musikalischen Künstlerkollektivs „Sita and the Hanumen“ und arbeitet regelmäßig mit Kirtan-Künstlern wie Krishna Das, Wah!, Shantala und Jai Uttal zusammen.
