Die CMA CGM Alexander von Humboldt und das baugleiche Schwesterschiff CMA CGM Marco Polo sind mit einem Transportvolumen von 16020 Standardcontainern die größten Containerschiffe der Welt.
Der Containerriese kann damit 1946 mehr Container transportieren, als die bisher größten Schiffe der CSCL Star Klasse, die den Hamburger Hafen regelmäßig anlaufen.

This mega-containership can transport 1946 more boxes than the largest vessels regularly calling so far at the Port of Hamburg, those of CSCL’s Star class.
