So wurden in Darmstadt allein sechs neue Elemente entdeckt und pro Jahr werden mehr als 50 Experimente in den Forschungsrichtungen Kern- und Atomphysik bis hin zu Materialforschung sowie Biophysik mit großem Erfolg durchgeführt.
