Je nach Grundöl und Anwendung (Motoröl, Hydrauliköl) können folgende Parameter untersucht werden:
Viskosität bei verschiedenen Temperaturen, Viskositätsindex, Total Base Number (TBN), Blotter spot test, Säurezahl, Wassergehalt nach Karl Fischer, Oxidationsstabilität.

Depending on the base oil and the scope of application (engine oil or hydraulic oil) the following parameters are checked:
viscosity at different temperatures and viscosity index, Total Base Number (TBN), Blotter spot test, acid number, water content (Karl Fischer method), and oxidation stability.
