Eva Spies ist seit Mai 2014 Juniorprofessorin für Religionswissenschaft mit Schwerpunkt Afrika an der Universität Bayreuth.
Von Januar 2006 bis April 2014 war sie Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Ethnologie und Afrikastudien an der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.

Eva Spies is junior professor for the study of religion with a focus on Africa at the University of Bayreuth since May 2014.
From January 2006 to April 2014 she was lecturer and later assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology and African Studies at the Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz.
