Eine fünfköpfige Delegation der brasilianischen Agrarforschungs-Organisation Embrapa unter der Leitung von Dr. Luciano Nass, dem Leiter für Wissenschaftskooperation und internationale Zusammenarbeit, besuchte am 6. und 7. Oktober 2010 das Johann Heinrich von Thünen-Institut ( vTI ) und das Julius Kühn-Institut ( JKI ), um sich über den Agrarforschungsstandort Braunschweig zu informieren.
Hintergrund des Besuches sind Pläne der Embrapa, ihr Forschungskontakt-Netzwerk LABEX ( „ Laboratórios Virtuais da Embrapa no Exterior “ ) auf Deutschland auszudehnen.LABEX-Wissensch... forschen jeweils an einem Institut vor Ort, knüpfen gleichzeitig aber auch Verbindungen zwischen Forschungseinrichtungen Brasiliens und ihres Gastlandes.
In Europa gibt es bereits in drei Ländern LABEX-Standorte.

The visit was part of Embrapa ’ s efforts to expand their research contact network LABEX ( Laboratórios Virtuais da Embrapa no Exterior ) LABEX scientists research in local institutions in other countries, and at the same time create linkages between the Brazilian research facilities and those in their guest country.
Three LABEX locations have already been established in Europe.
