Kibbuz, diese weltweit einmalige Form kollektiven Zusammenlebens hat ihren Ursprung in der europäischen Jugendbewegung und der zionistischen Vision junger Juden auf eine neue, eigene Existenz im gelobten Land.
Ausgebildet in Europa für die schwere Pionierarbeit zur Urbarmachung des Landes, zogen sie in Migrationswellen nach Palästina.
Unter diesen Bedingungen wurde vor 100 Jahren in Degania der erste Kibbuz gegründet.
