Ganz allein stand ich so eines Vormittags vor der Treppe, die in die geheiligten Amtsräume des „ Allmächtigen ” führte.
Nach einer aufregenden Taxifahrt durch das fast ampellose Kairo machte ich an der 1. Stufe der Treppe eine kurze Pause, nahm mir dann aber ein Herz und stapfte die steilen Stufen hinauf.
Dann blieb mir nur noch Staunen und Nachdenklichkeit, als mein Blick auf die prächtige Büste der „ Nofretete ” traf, wohl originalgetreue Abbildung der echten in Berlin.
