Die hauptsächlichen wissenschaftlichen Interessen der Gruppe Experimentelle Pharmakologie liegen auf dem Gebiet der translationalen Forschung und haben die Suche nach spezifischen Biomarkern für die Testung neuer zielorientierter Antitumor-Therapeutika zum Inhalt.
So wurden verschiedene Patienten-abgeleitete Xenografts von Leukämien, Sarkomen, Mamma-, Kolon-, Ovarial- und Lungenkarzinomen etabliert und hinsichtlich Übereinstimmung mit der klinischen Situation, Histologie und chemotherapeutischem Ansprechen charakterisiert.
Diese Modelle werden weiterhin auf Expression von Zielmolekülen im Zusammenhang mit dem therapeutischen Ansprechen der Tumoren untersucht.
