Born on 5 January 1952 in Ulm, Hoeneß took over as general manager at Bayern at the age of 27, after a total of 239 Bundesliga appearances and 86 goals.
From 2002 to 2009 the former international filled the role of deputy chairman , responsible for the professional football section , the junior team , sponsorship , licensing and representing the holding company in stadium operations .
Over the years, Uli Hoeneß built a formidable reputation as a visionary and driving force for change in the Bundesliga, especially in the field of TV, and has won several Manager of the Year awards.
