Auf Initiative des AlliiertenMuseum und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Verteidigungsbezirkskommando Halle-Dessau wurde aus Anlaß des 20. Todestages in unmittelbarer Nähe des Unfallortes ein Stein „ Zum Andenken an Oberstabsfeldwebel Philippe Mariotti “ eingeweiht.
Die Zeremonie fand in Anwesenheit der Oberbürgermeisterin von Halle, Frau Ingrid Häußler und 25 ehemaligen Angehörigen der französischen Militärmission statt.

On the initiative of the Allied Museum and in cooperation with the Defense District Command in Halle / Dessau, a plaque reading “ In Memory of Staff Sergeant Phillipe Mariotti ” was placed at the accident site to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the incident.
The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Halle, Ms. Ingrid Häussler, and 25 former members of the French military mission – including the two comrades who were in the vehicle with Mariotti when the accident took place.
