Nach einer wechselvollen Geschichte wurde es 1999 von der damaligen GTZ gekauft und unter Berücksichtigung denkmalpflegerischer Gesichtspunkte restauriert.
Im September 2001 öffnete die Repräsentanz in Berlin ihre Pforten.
