A serious problem can arise in the sliding window operation when the sending application program creates data slowly, the receiving application program consumes data slowly, or both.
The application program must keep track of which memory bank holds a required piece of data, and then call the bank-switching routine to make that bank active.
This was mainly used for debugging purposes to preserve the application program screen contents while replacing it, temporarily, with debugging information.
